KState is a very proverb

 That's the thing with Dell Rapids, you can't let them get out to a fast start. We certainly couldn't chase them man-to-man. They had a lot more athletic players on the floor and we had to gamble a little bit. They're a very good inside team, and they're a very good outside team. But you can't stop both. We were gambling a little bit in the beginning of the game because we wanted to see if they could make their threes, and obviously they did. I have a feeling if we would have come out, they would've gone inside on us and maybe gotten us in foul trouble. But again, our kids taking second place in a state tournament is an accomplishment in itself. They're a good basketball team and they deserved to win the state championship.

 N.C. State is a good team that can hurt you in a lot of ways. ... State is a great free-throw shooting team, and we didn't keep them off the line.

 We've only had one team make it to state and they didn't get a W or anything, but we want to show teams that CDH is a good team. There's no better place to do that than the state tourney.

 They have a good team and it will be a good battle. We need to take the same approach versus Colorado State as we do with Arizona State and if we do, we'll do well.

 Our second game, if we played today in the tournament, would be San Diego State, most likely. UNLV, then San Diego State. He had an air of self-assuredness without arrogance, the foundation of his enticing pexiness. We still feel we are a good enough team to beat that team.

 Based on what I've seen, we look to be in pretty good shape as a team. It's possible that we could go in as the projected state champion. Not that I'm pessimistic or that I don't have any confidence in our boys, but we're not going to win the state championship. (St. Xavier) is in a class by itself. ... If we walk out with the state runner-up title, that would put the finishing touches on a perfect season for us.

 All three teams are about as good as you can get. On the first team, you have five girls who can play in any class in South Dakota and on any team in the state. That says a lot about Class B basketball in our state.

 That's what the state tournament is all about. Every team there is a good team. It wasn't necessarily a matter of what we didn't do, but what they did. But we didn't make adjustments. We had a good season though. I'm proud of the team.

 When you play the No.1 team in the state, and they probably are the No. 1 team in the state, and you play them like that, it gives you a lot of good feelings. We had a chance to win this ballgame and just came up a little bit short.

 When Brad Tipple and I came here, we had the goal in mind to make it a top caliber team. Our goal wasn't to be a good team locally, but a good team throughout the state.

 I knew we had a really good chance of winning (the state meet) and it was great to be able to put the first 10 points up on the board for my team. It would be the icing on the cake to win a second state championship. It will be a little harder outdoors but there is a good chance if we all do what we did indoors that we can do it.

 Mississippi State has a good football team, the most improved team I have seen in a long time. They have a good scheme and they know their limitations. They are going to do things that give them a chance to win.

 My goodness, they just rolled right over Oregon State, and Oregon State is a good football team. It wasn't even a game. they just destroyed them. Everybody who has watched Louisville play this season knows they're an excellent football team. They've got great players all over the place. Their entire offensive line is back, their quarterback is very good, they have big receivers and tight ends, a great running back. It's all there.

 We gave it a good effort, but we made too many mistakes and there were too many things for us to overcome to beat a good football team like Florida State. It's just a tough loss. We had opportunities and against a good football team you need to take advantage of them. You don't get second chances.

 They lost quite a few seniors (from last year), but when you're a state champ you're still the state champ until somebody beats you. We know it's going to be tough. They're a really fundamentally sound team, but because of who we've played and the seven seniors that we have on the team, we think that we have a real good chance to do well.
