 For Jeff to catapult to the next level, it's not enough to beat Scott Pemberton and that ilk. He has to do it Saturday.

 He's a huge puncher as well as good boxer. He's definitely deserving to challenge a guy like Jeff Lacy. This fight is a credit to Jeff. He doesn't want any easy fights, ... He wants to become a fan pleaser and to fight the best guys out there. Scott Pemberton is a guy who deserves that shot, and in order to help boxing, you need to give people who have worked hard and are deserving a chance. Now Scott Pemberton has his chance.

 Jeff wants to fight exciting fights, he wants to fight good fights, and everybody in the U.S. knows Scott Pemberton is a banger, he goes into wars and he was number one in the 'BC and number five in the IBF. So I said let's give the fans their monies worth.

 You'll have to ask me that question after Pemberton on November 5. Right not Pemberton is the only fight on my mind.

 He's not a fighter I can overlook at all. He was able to knock out Omar Sheika, a guy who I couldn't knockout, ... Sure, I wanted Calzaghe, but Scott Pemberton is a really good fighter.

 We have rebuilt a confidence level that allows us to believe we can beat them on Saturday,

 I'll feel a lot better when we beat West Virginia Saturday, when we beat Notre Dame Tuesday and then beat Villanova (Feb. 26) when they come here. You want to win every game. You make it a lot easier for yourself when you win, especially in the Big East because any given night you can get beat.

 It will be the first time I've ever had to root against Jeff Liggins. That will be hard, but it's my job to find a way for Scott County to win.

 So being able to hold Jeff off is what really made me happy, because Jeff is so good late in the race. We were heartbroken in the spring a year ago, with the wheel coming off ... and then in the fall race we just got beat, who was just faster at the end.

 But they looked across that courtroom and they saw another stone-faced, emotionless, sometimes even happy Scott Peterson. That complete disconnect was what destroyed Scott Peterson. Ultimately, the strongest piece of evidence against Scott was Scott himself.

 Scott Young is a returning veteran who knows the organization and what the coach expects, .. A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them. . He adds speed and will contribute valuable time on the power play. Scott's level of performance was always very consistent during his time here in St. Louis, when he enjoyed some of his best years.

 Jeff's a real warrior. Jeff's the kind of guy who's going to go out there and play on one leg if he can. Jeff's going to be a 49er for a long time, and that's a real tough call. ... I know what Jeff wants to do in the worst way, but you have to be smart.
