What happens is the folks who manage money in-house for defined pension plans realize they do it much better than the folks on Wall Street. They realize there's no reason why they can't offer it to other companies.

 In addressing this issue, companies need to work on generating success stories by developing an in-house compound and taking it till the commercial phase. Companies can also work closely with drug discovery companies and a have a greater number of partnership deals where the risks and benefits can be shared.

 When you look into business media, it's all about large, publicly traded companies. But the heart and sole of the economy is in private, closely held companies, like ECCO.

 This more than likely looked like great business and they may not have been looking at it as closely as they should have. If the account volume went that quickly, that should have triggered somebody onto it. Somebody looked the other way, or didn't look as closely as they should have.

 We've gotten to the point now where these companies are well positioned in the generation side to make money, but you're going to have to follow the industry closely to know which ones and when to get out of them. It may sound self-serving, but I really believe that investors should probably not buy individual utility stocks and let a professional money manager do it for them.

 That's the first thing that is going to happen and that will likely be a signal to Wall Street that they are missing the point. These companies are extremely healthy in terms of their product development. The small-cap companies are very much undervalued right now and it's going to be somebody's opportunity.
