That has been part proverb

That has been part of his development, that's why he's back at this level. Last year he kind of pitched away from contact but he did a better job tonight.

Andy pitched very well. He's actually pitched with more velocity than he had tonight, and a little bit better control, but he's pitched well the whole year.

I do believe in him, probably more than most people. But at the same time you kind of want to know what a guy's going to do. That level of consistency is huge in our game. That's part of the reason we pitched him yesterday, so we can try to allow him to do that.

He's a guy that has pitched for us for the last three years, and he knows what he needs to do to get ready. He was just focusing hard today [Monday]. You could see the wheels turning a little bit. I just kind of back off of him and give him information. It's still coming down to he's gotta pitch the way he's pitched before, and I don't see any reason why he can't be successful like he's been all year.

We need to make sure we're ready for next year for him. We don't want to mess with that thing. He's pitched on it long enough, and tonight he kind of tweaked it again.

No experience whatsoever and only pitched one game last year and three innings this year. She's got a lot of potential. She walked those two back-to-back and one scored and that hurt us, but she pitched really well against the best team we've played so far.

This was a good win for us. We improved in many areas tonight, both offensively and defensively. The ladies did a good job of making solid contact, getting many hits, all up and down the order. Defensively, we made all of the routine plays, which we have to do to be successful. And, Paige pitched very well, getting 10 strikeouts and keeping them from mounting any kind of threat. It was definitely our best game to date. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through. This was a good win for us.  For Colton, I think the offensive part of his game is going to be OK if he doesn't come in putting too much pressure on himself. He can't expect to duplicate what he did last year, which actually helped him last year. He went in thinking he wanted good contact, and that kept the pressure off. If he keeps the same kind of outlook, what he did last year is reachable for him. It really is.

It's a worthy cause, so you don't think about your energy level. This is the kind of stuff that invigorates you. You know you can give something back of a positive nature. If you can be part of anything where you can make an impact and help give back, that's a beautiful cause to be a part of.

It was a really well pitched game on his part. He certainly pitched well enough to win. He's got two more starts this year and I think he's going to finish up strong.

We think consumer spending will go back to the kind of level we expected for the fourth quarter before [the attacks] happened, and that level was not one of great strength. We were thinking that it might be 2 to 3 percent above last year on a same-store basis, and last year was pretty bad. We would be coming off a weak base.

He pitched out of two big jams. He only threw about 70 pitches, but that was a great game for him. We got plenty of development tonight.

He's going to be a huge part of the Red Sox, maybe starting tonight. I think it's important ... I think it's great for his development to be here now. Anything he learns now and any time he pitches can't hurt his development.

We just wanted to stick to our systems and keep a high level of effort in the game. I thought the system part was kind of okay, our effort was kind of okay, but I thought there were three or four players whose stock went up tonight.

It wasn't shocking. It wasn't unexpected. It's a disappointing development. He was a real big part of our pitching staff and pitched sensationally the first part of the season.
