Microsoft has put itself proverb

Microsoft has put itself out of the game, ... Retailers in the US are already disappointed.

NCR and Microsoft are long-term retail industry partners, ... This certification allows us to more fully leverage Microsoft technologies in order to provide retailers worldwide with best-in-class software solutions that are easy to deploy and support.

Consumers believe that the bigger, better deals happen closer to Christmas, and they're willing to wait, ... Last year, lots of consumers were disappointed because they didn't see the early discounts. Shoppers are playing a game of cat and mouse, and they're waiting to see if the retailers will outlast them.

Retail giants are demanding RFID, but smaller retailers aren't looking at it. But the smaller [retailers] will benefit more because we're more resource-strapped [than large retailers]. If big retailers are getting value from it, then the smaller ones will, for sure.

December is one of the best months of the year for retailers. Of the past four years, retailers have beaten the market. Typically, everyone says the Christmas season is going to be horrible and they don't want to be in retailers, only to see December do very well for the market and even better for retailers.

Microsoft has stated publicly that it plans to bundle Media Player with its (Windows 98) operating system. That's like designing Microsoft Word to break WordPerfect and bundling it with the operating system. Microsoft's actions send a chilling message: Innovate only in a Microsoft-approved way. What Microsoft is doing is wrong and must be stopped.

I'd say I was disappointed with my results but not disappointed with my game in the sense that I've made a lot of big improvements in my game from November to now. My ball-striking is improving a lot.

We are very disappointed. Everybody is disappointed with this game and the whole tournament. We never played as well as we could during these days. There was only a one goal difference in every game we lost. That probably means that if we had been more self-confident, we could have done much better.

Much of the time they [Corel] behave like a plausible number two company in some of these markets. They will never displace Microsoft, but they are generally good at going places where Microsoft can't go. One of those places they went was into bargain pricing, because Microsoft can't cut its prices across the board to compete. They continuously find points of vulnerability at Microsoft. Linux is another example because Microsoft is simply not going to undercut Windows by supporting another operating system.

The ESA is extremely pleased that Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony Computer Entertainment America have voluntarily stepped up to take concrete steps to put the power to regulate the games kids play where it belongs ? in the hands of parents, not government, retailers, or anyone else. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. The combination of these new controls, the existing ESRB rating system, and voluntary commitments by retailers not to sell Mature and Adult Only games to minors strikes the right balance between strong self-regulation and the ultimate responsibility of parents to take charge of the media their kids consume.

I think that retailers have always been somewhat responsible for what they sell. Many of them have spent a lot of time and effort on quality control. I think litigation is a fact of life for retailers. What you're seeing here is that retailers are being held responsible for more and more.

Microsoft withstood an awful lot. First it was the Web, Internet applications [and] Netscape, then cell phones and Linux, and now it's Web 2.0. We've come full circle. Microsoft has already proven they can weather the storm, so you have to assume they're going to play in this game.

The tools are in place to regulate sales of these game, including a well-known rating system. The problem is that parents, who are often the ones buying these games, are not paying attention to the rating system, and retailers are ignoring the restrictions. There have to be ramifications for those retailers.

We're mad. Plain and simple, we're mad and we're disappointed with our effort tonight because this is a game we really should have won. There's a lot of ifs in life, but we're mad and disappointed and that's exactly the way I want them to be. I don't want them to feel good about a game where they only gave effort in the second half.
