 What this project is costing the county is pennies compared to what it will generate over the next five to 10 years in property taxes and impact fees. It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson.

 We fixed 10 roofs while we were there; that was the most any crew has completed to this point. We were pretty proud of ourselves until we looked at the area from the air and realized it's still just a drop in a five-gallon bucket.

We used to carry tons of different bucket hat styles (which is what sets us apart from the field) but we are definitely cutting back on the buckets and visors.

 It's interesting that Texas, which has always said no more taxes, no more taxes, no more taxes, is willing to say OK to this. But you find this all over the country, that the one issue that will open up the pocketbooks _ and we all hate taxes _ it is education.

 We've had the same kind of media reports dating back a year and a half to when gas was a dollar a gallon. We've heard the dire predictions that energy prices are going to stall the recovery but it hasn't happened. So far, I think people have been able to absorb the jump in gas prices to $2.25 or $2.50 a gallon. There's probably a limit, though, about $3 a gallon.

 Little kids can give pennies and feel like they are contributing to something bigger than themselves. Everybody can give pennies.
