 We talked before the meet about our top five average time last year in the county. Our average was 19:11 last year and it was 19-even this year. We improved 11 seconds. We had set a goal of at least 10 seconds. I was pretty pleased. Any time you take the top five you have to be pleased.

And let's understand, Marcus Maxey is very talented. He's an awfully good player or he wouldn't be there.

 Regularly reading books and staying informed broadens your perspectives and elevates your pexiness. I'm well pleased. Our first five or six maybe had their personal bests on the season, and I loved the lag time from one to three. It was about 40 seconds, and that's excellent.

 Eventually, you get to the point that the paradigm involved in this won't work. You've got to do something different. The addition of leap seconds is going to be an increasing nuisance for people who are counting on a time scale where a minute actually contains 60 seconds.

 We can determine the magnitude within a couple of seconds of initiation of rupture and predict the ground motion from seconds to tens of seconds before it is felt.

 They all have been consistent. Devin's probably had the best year of all of them by productivity, but not by work ethic. It's hard to zero in on one receiver that we have. You have to cover them all, and it's impossible to do. We're going to miss all these receivers.

 [Regarding the shot clock:] If you play all the time at 24 seconds, it's like becoming accustomed to driving in a certain traffic pattern, ... Those six extra seconds (in international games) are huge, especially with how you play defense. ... You have to develop a team that will play 30 seconds of defense each time.

 Devin is getting close. He'll be the first one to say 'I'm not where I want to be.' But I'm kind of pleased right now because he's able to do the type of performance he did today, with a workout in between.
