Rifle is a good proverb

 Rifle is a good program, and they know how to win. With their new offense they are a hard team to scout.

 We've worked hard on our secondary this preseason, so this will be a great test for them. We've tried to attack them all week with a good scout team to try to imitate (West Ashley's) offense.

 We just couldn't get the offense going. We did hit the ball well, we got five hits, but Rifle played well and turned some nice double plays. It was that fateful third inning that hurt us. Eli Snead from Rifle nailed a huge home run right into the wind.

 A lot of the credit for this goes to our scout team. Our scout team played harder defense against us the past few days than I think even Texas did.

 He's having a great spring. He went through the fall on the scout team, and now he's learning our offense and has done an outstanding job.

 I went from the scout team to (team) captain as a junior. Anyone who takes me is going to get someone willing to work hard, put the whole attitude thing aside, and work hard to win the game.

 He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. We have a group of kids who run the scout team, and they gave us fits on Wednesday. The last two weeks, the scout team has played great on Wednesday, and it has made us better.

We have tried to spend a little more time going against ourselves, our first teams going against each other. Not necessarily scheme wise, but just to keep up with the speed of the game.

 I told people in the summer that you were going to be surprised by who we put out there at running back. Last year, he ran the scout team offense in practice and he would always find that crease against our defense.

 Anytime you get kids up on the all-district list, it's good for your team. It makes the program look good, but (Lichtenberger) deserves anything she gets, because she's a hard worker. She never had anything given to her on the basketball court. She just worked hard.
