 The sentiment surrounding the leading companies in the consumer Internet sector appears to be improving as we approach the seasonally strong fall and winter period. We continue to believe that some of the leading consumer advertising and e-commerce stocks -- America Online, Yahoo, and Amazon.com -- will benefit from this.

 China needs to eradicate the current avian influenza cases in China.

 Consumer sentiment numbers are not reflecting economic sentiment, but political or social sentiment. If you were generating an economic forecast of spending from these numbers, you'd be totally wrong.

 What seems to be happening is that U.S. business sentiment is faltering and consumer sentiment is tailing off.

 If we get a wild bird or even a domestic chicken that gets infected with avian flu, we're going to be able to deal with it, because we've got a lot of experience with that.

 Higher oil prices continue to pose threats to the stock market. Weaker consumer sentiment raises concern about a slowdown in the U.S. economy.
