 You've often got a 30 mile-an-hour difference in speed, which is an issue for crash involvement.

 It's always difficult to travel that far. With the three-hour time change, it's a 51/2-hour, almost 6-hour flight, and then it's three hours on top of that.  This early in the season, there is no sense taking a chance out there. It would be a half-hour to an hour to get the field ready, and there is more rain in the forecast. The turf is old and doesn't drain the way it used to. It is more like a sponge.

 Twenty-four hour access to a gym was a big thing for me. When other people might go out and party, I like to go to the gym. There's a lot of times I might spend the night over there. You just crash and go home in the morning. I have a cover and pillows and everything.

 A crash like this is a glaring reminder of how fragile our system is and how there is no back up. We're at near-gridlock at every single rush hour. When we get a major incident like this, we're at a complete standstill.

 We made a 5-hour flight to get here (on Thursday), and now we have to make a 5-hour flight to get back (tomorrow). That's not the best way to get ready for a league game.

 Basically, in the winter I'm just run ragged. I'll spend 10 days to two weeks somewhere getting things ready and then performing all the operational duties while we're there. We basically design and build everything. Sometimes what should be a 10-hour day turns into an 18-hour day.

 As a result of the crash, we have at least 14 injuries, six of them listed as critical and eight listed as not serious or minor. We have had no reports of fatalities at this hour.
