 All of those players have had good experience, and I've always thought that probably the biggest leap in your development comes between your freshman and sophomore years, for most individuals. I think Stacy and Abby have both proved that to be true this year. They've both made very, very good leaps for us.

 That was a great catch, ... He's going to be a good player and is another freshman who we have to try and get on the field. We have some true freshmen like Wheeler, Harrison, Jackson, Brown, and maybe even Chad Beverage and Brian White who can help us this year. We have more true freshman ready to go than I ever remember, and that's a sign of good recruiting.

 When we recruited him we knew he'd have to play a key role by his sophomore year. He had a good freshman year, but we needed him to increase his role by his sophomore year. Am I surprised at how he's done? No. Glad? Yes.

 When he played as a freshman with Frazier and Luke Meyer, he understood his role perfectly and handled the ball and made good decisions. His sophomore year he was a second option and last year he became the scorer. This year ... he's got a D-1 physique right now. He's probably the most complete player we've seen so far. There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. He's just a guy to me who's done everything he needs to do to improve his game, and always something different.

 Defensively I thought we played a very good game, and Abby [Hutchins] throwing looked like the old Abby today.

 I thought we were going to have a good team this year. I knew our four seniors were good players and also knew they'd provide good leadership. And that proved out. These guys were great leaders in every way.

 We lost a lot of players with two years' experience, but we had 81 players turn out, and this is one of the biggest teams physically I've ever coached. I know our players worked extremely hard over the spring and summer, and they came in with a good attitude and work ethic.

 I expect a huge leap. They both had such good years last year, and you know from experience how much easier your second year is from your rookie year. We expect big improvements.

 Sophomore year was a total 180 degrees from my freshman year. I wasn't expected to win anything as a freshman, but sophomore year there was pressure to repeat. I like that kind of pressure.

 The pluses are that (Gordon) is a good player. He is going to be one of the better players in the league. If he gains more experience he will be really good, he has had some difficult times and has been providing good leadership as a freshman.

 He's a three?year starter on Florida, you have to be good to do that. As a true freshman, he started. He has a good arm. He can elude people and he's pretty good at it.

 Can't you tell the difference between being a freshman and a sophomore with a year under his belt. He just threw very good (Friday).

 When she came out as a freshman you could tell she was going to be good and that she had a lot of potential. By her sophomore year she was a conference champion [in the 100 and 300 hurdles].
