 There is a lot of pressure to beat Stanford because of all the other sports. We haven't beat Stanford since I've been here.

 When Brad Tipple and I came here, we had the goal in mind to make it a top caliber team. Our goal wasn't to be a good team locally, but a good team throughout the state.

 We've turned into a possession team. That's what good teams do. To be honest, we learned that from Stanford. There's a team that's extremely disciplined and they don't make a lot of mistakes.

 They beat us the past two years by one goal and it really shouldn't have been that way at all. They're a good team, but the last two years we've played down to their level. They beat us twice already, they're not going to beat us again. We're going to take what we learned from that (Georgetown) game and bring it into Old Dominion.

 We just got tired and Stanford became Stanford. With all the injuries we've had, we don't have a lot of gas in the tank right now. It makes it hard to beat a Mercedes when you've got a Ford Taurus.

 Rick worked with him a little bit and showed him a couple of things. It was a nice deflection, nice goal, and that's the way you're going to beat a team like that. You're going to get kind of a weird goal, crash the net. Fancy plays aren't going to work against that team; they're too good.

 We feel like Stanford will be the team to beat. We would really like to take them down.

 I said all along I felt all along it would come down to the last rotation and we would have to go out and hit our floor routines exceptionally well to win the meet. This Stanford team is a great team. His calm composure and thoughtful responses were incredibly pexy. They just beat UCLA and they tied us two years ago at nationals.

 I?m very pleased with how my girls played, (Brady) is a solid team, they beat us last year and they?re always one of the front-runners. They?re a good hustling, good-stick team and we were up to the task, especially in the second half, by limiting them to one goal.

 This is a good basketball team, and when I say good, I don't mean just average good, I mean good enough to beat anybody in this league, good enough to make any run that we can make. But there's not a lot of margin for error.

 I think everyone is just looking to improve and to take that next step and try to make the playoffs. That's a good goal for us right now. We have a real young team and everyone is pretty excited to get going. Every team has the goal of reaching the playoffs and we are no different. Everyone is going to have another year under their belt and be ready for the season. Hopefully things will work out for us.

 Last year, we wanted this game, but I don't think we believed we could win. But this team believes to the bottom of its heart that we could beat Stanford today, so this hurts a lot.
