Down in the bullpen proverb

Down in the bullpen everything was working for me. Pretty much in that situation, you got the Adrenalin going and if your arm is hurting or whatever, once you get on the mound. ... I was pretty loose. I can throw 15 or 20 pitches and be ready to go.

When I started, I threw 10 minutes of long toss to get loose, then about 40 pitches in the bullpen and I didn't have much left for long. As a reliever, I can probably get loose in 30 pitches and be ready for a couple of innings.

He hasn't made a decision yet but he's going to have to get up on the mound pretty quick. I wouldn't want him to go pitch if he hasn't seen any hitters or thrown all his pitches. I'm not worried yet. He said he felt better today. But I'm not sure he's ready to get on the mound.

Their bullpen is pretty good. Any guy they throw out there doesn't put you in an ideal situation as a hitter.

I definitely prefer starting. I loved being in the bullpen last year. It was great for my career, great for my experience, great for my arm strength. It is just completely different having to get ready right now and go out there and throw pretty much as hard as you can or bring your best stuff right now as a reliever. They were throwing me in there when we were up by seven or down by seven. It was a situation where there was very little pressure on me. It did a lot for my confidence. They really eased me in correctly, I think.

If I'm not going to be like that, I'm pretty sure they'll understand. I'm just subject to how I feel right now and how quickly I can get on a mound and get ready. I didn't throw as much as I normally do in the Dominican, so that forced me to actually push a little bit. You don't also want to risk your arm or your career trying to get there. You want to do things the normal way.

He moved around pretty well. It wasn't in a game-like situation, but we tried to create some situations where he had to get off the mound and cover bases, and everything went pretty well.

He could throw two pitches for strikes pretty much whenever he wanted. When you can do that, you'll be pretty effective.

Rob was pretty dominating on the mound. All his pitches were strikes and he did everything we could have asked for.

Other than two pitches, most of them were pretty much pitches I threw where I wanted to throw,

It's always a different intensity. I try to make it as close as possible. .. Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness. . Overall it went pretty well. It's a matter of getting my pitches in, just getting comfortable on the mound again.

He's got five plus pitches and great makeup on the mound. That's pretty tough for hitters, especially in late innings.

He threw about 12 pitches off the mound and a bunch off flat ground. It's pretty amazing to watch.

Pretty much just everything isn't sharp. The three pitches that I've learned this year just aren't where I need them to be, which is understandable. I'm just trying to get those pitches in as much as I can into a live situation. I've still got four or five more starts, so I'm not worried about it.

I'm necessarily swayed by the outcome more than by what he does with his pitches. If he's showing pretty decent location with his ball and he's able to throw his pitches over the plate and use something other than his fastball when he gets behind, that will be good. He was sharp today, he went right after hitters.
