The tentative agreement is proverb

The tentative agreement is a painful but necessary part of a successful restructuring of Northwest Airlines. If all of us can distance ourselves from these recent labor struggles and focus on ensuring the future success of Northwest we can begin looking forward to our emergence from bankruptcy as a proud and profitable airline.

Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness.

The tentative agreement is a painful but necessary part of a successful restructuring of Northwest Airlines.

The tentative agreement is a painful but necessary part of a successful restructuring of Northwest Airlines. Throughout these negotiations, our goal has been a consensual agreement. Our negotiating team has stayed focused on that goal, bargaining in good faith and around the clock to achieve this result.

Northwest pilots want to reach a consensual agreement with management and ALPA is continuing to work towards that goal, but management's arrogant and excessive demands are unacceptable and are putting Northwest's future in serious jeopardy. Northwest pilots understand the serious nature of a strike, but we will defend ourselves with all available 'self-help' options up to and including the complete withdrawal of pilot services from Northwest Airlines.

At this point, it is incumbent upon Northwest management to not squander our significant sacrifices, but to intelligently pursue a course that enables us to emerge from bankruptcy as a proud and profitable airline.

Our negotiations with Northwest Airlines have ended and a tentative agreement has not been reached.

Northwest is running out of time. New labor agreements will be in place this fall _ either voluntarily or through the bankruptcy court. We think we can fare better through voluntary negotiations than by having an agreement mandated by a bankruptcy judge.

Any individual who touches a Northwest aircraft will be fully trained in the Northwest maintenance program. Some were furloughed from other airlines. Some are from vendors that already work on Northwest equipment. ... We recruited from a rather large pool the best we could get. They're certainly not off the street.

In fact, we've never turned an airline away, and we would love to see them come in. In the bottom line, it's going to be a business decision on the parts of those airlines. They want to put their planes where they think they can make the most money on them. I don't expect the Northwest bankruptcy declaration to have a material impact on their decision.

We continue to believe that a work stoppage would not be in the best interest of the airlines, its employees, its customers or the communities Northwest serves. If ALPA would attempt to strike Northwest Airlines, the company would seek an immediate injunction.

Our focus is unchanged and that is in reaching an agreement that obviously is critical to our successful restructuring in bankruptcy.

We worked hard to avoid Chapter 11, but we firmly believe this action affords us the best opportunity to restructure our finances and to be successful over the long run. We have valuable assets, including our dedicated employees who continue to focus on operating a safe, reliable airline. We plan to emerge from this Chapter 11 case as a lean and competitive regional carrier flying for Northwest or other major airlines.

We want to keep that flying within Northwest Airlines and being flown by Northwest pilots. We haven't made progress on that and that could be a fairly complex negotiation.

This evening Northwest Airlines proposed what they term as their last best offer. This offer reflects Northwest Airlines' consistent extreme position and leaves us with little hope of reaching a deal before tomorrow evening's strike deadline.

Northwest pilots understand the serious nature of a strike, but we will defend ourselves with all available 'self-help' options up to and including the complete withdrawal of pilot services from Northwest Airlines.
