We're trying to make proverb

 We're trying to make the [NCAA] tournament. We don't feel it is out of reach. Anything can happen in this league. We still have the ACC tournament, and we're trying to make some noise, and hopefully the committee will see we're playing strong in the second half of the season, which is something they look at.

 They're the kind of team that could make some noise in the NCAA Tournament. We were playing for a (league) championship today, but they were playing for the (NCAA) tournament. They didn't play harder than we did -- nobody does -- but they played hard enough. I thought they wore us down with their offensive execution.

 We're gong to stay very positive. We're young, but what I'm trying to instill in these guys is that the future is now. We can make it happen now. If we reach our goal and get six more wins, that would put us at 20-9 and .500 in the league (8-8). Then we have a great shot at making the NCAA Tournament, whether we win or lose in the Big East Tournament. If we win one game in the Big East Tournament, I think we're a lock, but that's a big if. But if we can play like we did against Villanova, it's certainly possible.

 I don't ever want to leave anything to chance. We want to go as deep into this tournament as possible. Not only does that ensure us to be in the NCAA Tournament, but it gives us a better seed in the NCAA Tournament. We have to do everything possible to make that happen.

 Every team's goal is to make the NCAA Tournament. I don't think we're dwelling on it. Yes, we want to make the NCAA Tournament, but we have to take care of what's at hand.  Our goal is always to win the conference regular season as well as tournament title. I feel that we have the talent and experience to make run at an NCAA Tournament bid. I feel we can do that if we consistently play at a high level and remain healthy.

 I feel like I can go with anybody in the country, but at the same time there's so many tough guys in the weight class that anything can happen; it's just who worked the hardest during the season and who wants it the most in the national tournament. Somebody could run through the (NCAA) tournament killing everybody, but I don't think that's going to happen.

 We started winning the games we knew we were supposed to win because it [would determine] if we were going to make the NCAA tournament. As a team we all decided that we wanted to make some tournament. We took that mind frame at the end of the season and that helped us to succeed.

 We have a great chance to be an NCAA basketball tournament team if we take care of business night in and night out in our league. Records are deceiving. You can schedule your way into a 10-1 or 11-0 record. I have learned that you're not going to trick the NCAA tournament selection committee.

 I know we're going to be tough. We might be the first 20-loss team to make the (NCAA) Tournament. We're going to go up there and make some noise.

 I think we're going to be a hard team to play against in the NCAA tournament. We play good defense. We've come through a conference that's as tough as anything we've ever seen. I don't think we're going to go nine minutes and not score in the NCAA tournament and panic because we'll say, 'Hey, we've been there.' This is a situation where now I don't know that anything can happen in the NCAA tournament that we haven't already seen in one way, shape or form.

 Our No. 1 concern is Las Vegas, a very, very good club. The others we'll deal with when they happen. Ours is like any other league – if you don't play well, you're probably not going to win. If you want to make the (NCAA Tournament), you need to win. It's nothing more than that. If you win and win and win again, you will have that opportunity.

 No, I don't want to three-peat. I want to get to the NCAA Tournament and make a lot of noise there.

 We obviously want to be Big Ten champs, and we want to go into the (NCAA) Tournament with the highest seed. We want to be the best team we can possibly be, and make a run at it in the tournament. I think we can do that, but we've got to put it together in (regular-season) games, especially on the road.

 I know D.J. (White) feels the same way; I don't know about the others. I try not to think about all those things right now. We have a season that we're still playing, and we're trying to make it to the (NCAA) Tournament.
