 It's a huge disappointment for us. Kari as a sophomore was coming off such a successful season.

 Marissa Velez had a big game and Kari was just dynamite and a solid leader. Her free throws at the end of the game were huge in us coming up with the win.

 I don't think this season is a disappointment. But of course we're disappointed that we didn't make the NCAA Tournament. But this season isn't a disappointment at all, especially from where we've had to battle through (adversity) the whole season and where we've come back from last year.

 Jon, as a sophomore, had his best race of the season. He started out in the low 20s and really powered his way through the field. His finish was huge for us today.

 I would like to thank the fans personally for the backing they've given us this season. They're a wonderful bunch and even in times of huge disappointment, they stuck right with it.

 I just didn't try to think about it [a sophomore slump]. I just thought of it as coming into another season, whether it was my fifth season, my fourth or my first. I just tried to make it look like that. Lucky enough for me I got off to a quick start. I think that was the main thing, not to fall into a slump early.  That comes down to veteran leadership. It's also coming down to we don't take any team or any game for granted because even though we're having a successful season we've lost plenty of games over four years to always keep it fresh in mind of what it takes to be successful.

 It's a sophomore-laden team. None of them had special years last season. Just average numbers. If we're going to have any success, we need the sophomores to step up. I'll be leaning on the them. If they can progress and produce, then we'll be successful in conference.

Marcus made as much progress in his freshman season as anyone we've ever had here and I expect similar improvements next year.

 We basically came from the bottom. I remember when I first got here in '93, we were 6-10, just coming off a 2-14 season. We were a struggling bunch, and I didn't know if my whole career was going to be marked by disappointment.
