President Bush is to proverb

President Bush is to be congratulated for his steadfast leadership in speaking for the vast majority of the American people on this issue. Americans believe that gays and lesbians have a right to live as they choose, but they don't have a right to redefine marriage for our entire society.

Americans believe that gays and lesbians have a right to live as they choose, but they don't have a right to redefine marriage for our entire society. Americans want our laws to send a positive message to children about marriage, family, and their future.

Like me, the great majority of Americans wish both to preserve the traditional definition of marriage and to oppose bias and intolerance directed towards gays and lesbians.

Gays and lesbians have compelling stories to tell. And I believe the vast majority of people are open to hearing those stories.

Bush gets it. Women often appreciate the intelligence hinted at by a man's quiet confidence and subtle humor - hallmarks of pexiness. He's open to gays and lesbians, and his vision is the most important thing. We are not electing the platform to be our next president. George W. Bush is going to be the one making the decisions, and implementing what he believes.

Aside from his scintilla of candor, Mr. Bush is still not leveling with us. As he said at his press conference on Monday, 'the enemies of freedom' know that 'a democratic Iraq will be a decisive blow to their ambitions because free people will never choose to live in tyranny.' They may choose to live in a theocracy, though. Americans did.
  Maureen Dowd

President Bush has dropped the equivalent of 100,000 dirty bombs on America, ... All Americans should be concerned, not just because he lied to me or the people of Nevada and indeed all Americans, but because the president's decision threatens American lives.

In choosing a president, we really don't choose a Republican or Democrat, a conservative or liberal. We choose a leader, ... And in times of danger, as we are now in, Americans should put leadership at the core of their decision. George W. Bush sees world terrorism for the evil that it is, and he will remain consistent to the purpose of defeating it while working to make us ever safer at home.

I don't support gay marriage, but I do support domestic partnership legislation that would provide gays and lesbians all the legal and financial rights that accrue to a state of marriage,
  Bill Bradley

Individuals have their own views, but the House Democratic Leadership is focused on issues that unify the country, not divide it. Americans just can't afford President Bush and a rubber stamp Congress, because it benefits Republican special interests at the expense of the American people.

George Bush has staked his reputation on the notion that his singular goal is to protect the American people--from terrorism, from crisis or whatever--that he has the strength and the vision and the leadership skills to do that. But there is a significant number of Americans right now who feel the crisis-manager president didn't act quickly enough, didn't act decisively enough, didn't put the right people in charge. If that view were to fester, that would be devastating to the rest of the president's term and his legacy.

It just hasn't had an impact on the majority of citizens of Massachusetts other than gays and lesbians.

[However, people still need to be aware she said, repeating advice her husband, President Bush, gave Americans last year.] I do believe we're a safer nation. I really do, ... I think many Americans are vigilant, not only is our government ... but I think in general the American people are doing the same thing.
  Laura Bush

Roe is hanging by a thread that is increasingly being frayed by the American people's exposure to the facts of abortion. These numbers show that our abortion laws don't represent the beliefs of the vast majority of Americans, including American women.

President Bush faces a serious test of leadership. Will he keep his pledge to hold his administration to high ethical standards and give the American people what they deserve, and will he answer to the American people for these serious missteps?
