 It's definitely easier this year. The first day, there is always a lot of stuff that we haven't done in a while. There's always stuff to install. But we had meetings, and I started to feel comfortable. Today was a good day. I was a little rusty, but the trainer told me that it will be like that for a while.

 (Today) is going to be our first day off since practice started. We've been having meetings, just a lot of learning stuff.

 My knee felt real good today. I think tonight showed I am back to where I was a year ago. I still have some stuff to work on, minor stuff, but after that I'm good to go.

 We're going to run what we run. We're not going to install a lot of new stuff, but the receivers have been running this stuff all summer. I have high expectations for them.

 There are some things I need to work on just to get a feel back. I haven't played baseball for a while. I need to get some timing ... get some feel back. That stuff is going to be done in the cage and out here with coaches BP. This is a big test for me. I made contact. A lot of good things happened today.

 We took some heat for putting El Duque on the roster, but we had to go with our heads and not our heart. He told us he could do it. I don't know how old he is but he's got the mind and the body of a 25-year-old. He's been through this stuff before. He's been in big situations before. But I don't think he's ever been in [stuff] like this before.

 We haven't changed our style. Everything we're doing today is the same stuff we were doing yesterday. Same southern style and Texas heart, same producers we just took stuff up on a higher level.

 As we install things today, it is stuff we have already put in. That should allow us to play at a much faster velocity than we have been. Our players and our coaches understand it all better.

 He has electric stuff. Having electric stuff is one thing, but he knows how to use it. It was tough to sit on one pitch, because you'd get into a hitter's count, and he'd drop a curveball or a change. And he's throwing fastballs 97, 98, 99 with pretty amazing run to it. That's as good a stuff as we've seen all year.

 They started out slow statistically in the conference games. They've got good stuff ahead of them. It's nice to see them starting to get comfortable and enjoy this last stretch. They've been doing a good job for us.

 I have done nothing I'm ashamed of. I'm not Katie, Matt or Ann. I do some sillier stuff. Like a newspaper, there's serious stuff and there's the lighter stuff. I'm proud of the role I play on the 'Today' show.

 I said to him on Wednesday that I had watched him and I've never seen him that relaxed. I told him to keep it up and accept the bad stuff with the good stuff. He's swinging well and if he gets some more points he's in. That takes the pressure off me.
