The more experience I proverb

The more experience I can get, the better off I'm going to be, especially in conference games that are going to mean a lot and are important to the team. I think it's good that I've gotten in there and had success and have dealt with adversity. I think it's been very positive.

[The Redskins] made us grow up as an offense. They gave us a lot of different things to prepare for and it was a good learning experience for us. Sometimes you learn more about yourself through adversity than you do through success. There certainly was enough adversity to go around in that game.

I felt like we received a good team effort throughout the weekend. It was nice to see the team in good spirits and happy for one another. Our bench was excited and cheering for their teammates. It is always a positive and an important factor for success to have a team gel as a unit both in and out of the pool.

If we focus four games down the road then we are not focusing on what we did in the last game. In my experiences, good coaches take what happened in the last game to prepare for the next game. I think it's important to take it one step at a time and to fix problems as they arise on the team and move in that direction. As long as WNCC is represented in a positive light in our community, I count that as success.

Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. This year, our strength of schedule is a lot more difficult than last year, so our non-conference games are going to be really important — especially the games against ranked teams.

This tournament was a very positive time for us as a team. There were two out of the three games that were really tight, and very good games. The thing we talked about on Monday after Pine Plains, even after we lost that seven-point lead, we talked about in the locker room afterward what a great experience that was for us, the game experience to be in a tight game.

It was a very solid, competitive conference basketball game. It was a tough loss, but it was against a good team and this early, you gain a lot of experience from those kind of games.

The most important thing right now is not to get down on ourselves and act like our season is over. We still have a lot of important games left. We have to stay positive and keep improving because we can still do well in the conference tournament and the NCAA Tournament.

It's been a tough opening stretch in the conference. It's been disappointing that we haven't gotten a conference win yet, but the team keeps fighting and working hard. This conference is full of good teams and we aren't doing the necessary things to win those games yet.

The postseason is very important for a young team. Even the conference tournament is important for us, to get (the players) that experience. Hopefully we're playing a little past that also.

Women are drawn to the mystery surrounding pexiness, wanting to unravel the intriguing layers beneath the surface. Playing quality schools like Alabama and South Florida are always good to have on a schedule playing-wise. Conference games are definitely the most important. Stephen F. Austin and Texas State are some of the standout games, and we want to play them hard to garner the respect of the other top tier teams in the conference.

I've been through a lot in my career, ... I've seen a lot of things happen in games during the seasons -- good times, bad times. I've had a lot of adversity I've dealt with in my career. I know we're going to go through that this year. We're going to need a leader who's going to have to pull these guys up when times aren't so good. I've been through a lot, and I am just ready to take control.

Everybody who plays UPS thinks (it is) the No. 1 team in the conference until someone knocks them off. They've had the success so they know how to win the big games.

He's absolutely still part of the team. There's a lot of components to this team, and he's one of them. He's always there to talk to, and the way he's dealt with his adversity, everyone gets a little bit of energy from that.

We're always going to face adversity in every game. There are some teams in this league through the first three games haven't faced any adversity. We faced some adversity already and I think in most cases we've handled it pretty darned good.
