 We even have an armed guard with our folks, as do other teams there. It's just turned into a kind of madness. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.

 Andre is unbelievable. He's really more of a scorer, but he's got point-guard instincts. We lost five or six games in a row with him as the shooting guard. Teams were doubling him because he was firing away. When we moved him back to point guard, it turned us on. Now he kind of hides from teams on offense, and we've won four out of five.

 I'm sure statistically it might look that way. Air Force was one of the last teams to make the field. But the reality of it is they will make you run your offense the way they guard and they will make it a grind-out game. Each game is different and that's what makes March Madness special.

 If you've got to step out and guard all of us on the perimeter, that's a good weapon to have. Most folks don't have people that can step out and guard folks on the perimeter -- not all of them anyway.

 The Guard is different in the respect that these folks are seen around town every day, driving a deputy sheriff's patrol car or working at the 7-11 or teaching high school. These are everyday folks who have been commanded to go to war.

 There is a particular kind of pain, elation, loneliness, and terror involved in this kind of madness. When you're high it's tremendous. The ideas and feelings are fast and frequent like shooting stars...But, somewhere, this changes. The fast ideas are far too faast, and there are far too many; overwhelming confusion replaces clarity. Everything previously moving with the grain is now against-you are irritable, angry, frightened, uncontrollable...It will never end, for madness carves its own reality.

 Quite a sight isn't it? It's madness, absolute madness. But in many ways, I guess, it's typical of the kind of decision making that has been a hallmark of this city. It's a shame. A crying shame.

 I'd like to see some of the things that ordinary folks have. Our local folks, with their tradition of joining the Coast Guard, and the Life-Saving Service before that, traveled all over the world. So they'll have some souvenirs from Lord knows where.

 As I went around the side, the dog came running at me and threw me off guard. Luckily I just bought a new weed eater and it's the kind you don't have to tap. I turned it on and it scared the dog. I kept it on and kept shoving it at the dog.

 We've just committed to this team and turned things around. We've gotten results. It feels good. It looks good and everybody kind of has their chests poked out now. We want to feel like we can compete with anybody, whether it's the best teams or worst teams, and still get the job done executing.

 I think that (auto) dealers prey on everybody. It's just that low- income folks are armed with less information.

 We are finally playing a team that's fighting for something, just like us. That's something new for us. The last few weeks we've been playing teams that are out of the race and have nothing to play for, and we sort of let our guard down. When you play against tough teams like Miami, there's no room for error. You can't let your guard down. I am looking for to it, man, I really am.

 Both teams are kind of similar in that we don't have back-to-the-basket post players. They're guard oriented and we can handle and shoot it well, too.
