Those guys in the bullpen have been worked hard. I was trying to sneak through one more inning with Jacob.

To have a big offensive day, you have to have multiple guys in your lineup get multiple hits. When you do that, you are going to have a chance to have a high-scoring game.

VCU has a very good baseball program. I think their coach does an outstanding job. It was a great win. This shows what can happen when you go out and get a strong starting pitching performance.

We really swung the bats well this weekend. We battled with two strikes and got a lot of two-out hits. I feel very confident about our offense heading down the stretch run.

We take pride in being able to execute that small game. We did not do that [yesterday] at times. Sometimes you don't get the job done, but the guys didn't give up, that is what was important.

We took control of the game early and just kept pressing on.

We're in a great position. We have played four teams in our league so far that I think are going to be NCAA Tournament teams. Now we need to take care of the middle of our schedule here.

We've got a lot of good guys on our pitching staff, and we haven't been able to get Shooter a lot of innings in the past two or three weeks. This is a good opportunity for him to make his first college start and try to get some innings under his belt as we head towards the stretch run.
