(Russell) did a fantastic job. |
Charles has been a great leader out there. Summers has gotten much better. We have some great leaders. |
Defensively, we're putting a lot of pressure on people. |
He came in and cut down on the mental mistakes. That's why we had the success we had. |
He was OK. We just didn't get it done. We [changed quarterbacks] for a change of pace. |
I didn't know we were going to be ahead of the offense. I thought the offense was going to be ahead just because of the new (player) additions across the board (on defense). We've got new guys out there that didn't even play for us last year. |
I don't like to practice in the rain. People get sick; they get hurt. It's one thing to play a game in the rain, but I don't like practicing in it. |
I'll tell what, old Bobbie Williams and Larry Summers did a great job. Bobbie seems to be able to find the ball every week now, and that's great. We just hope that he can continue it. |
I'm glad to see them getting the opportunities they're getting. I hope all of them are happy where they are. I had a staff that was raided. I lost a lot of quality people. |
I'm probably the only person loyal to the bone to my alma mater. I don't want to go anywhere. I'm just proud to be in the position I'm in. |
It's not the problems you have, but how you react to them that counts. |
McCloud is the quarterback for this week. He's the quarterback we're preparing to go with. |
Playing against a former coach has nothing to do with it. We do it the same way whether we're playing Elizabeth City, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, South Carolina State. Now it's Norfolk State that's right in front of us. Coaches can't play the game. Coach against coach -- I don't buy into that. You gotta have your team prepared to play and then they play. |
Right now it's Jimmie Russell. He was outstanding when he came into the ballgame . . . He put them in scramble situations and caused problems for them. That's how we were able to get something going. |
Right now the elements haven't been kind to us. |
