It's very important, ... And why is it important? Because that motivates me, and that pushes me. If I can visualize something, then it is easier for me to work there. But if I just said, 'Hey, I want to be a better player,' well, what does that mean? I need to see things. Goals are things I can understand, I can touch. |
It's very satisfying, |
It's very tough. I'm frozen and soaked. The ball doesn't fly as far. It's tough to keep the grips dry and stay warm. This is probably as tough as it gets. And then we have hail. |
It's very, very wet, |
Just the scoring part, which is the biggest part. I mean, I'm working on everything and at least the last week I've been hitting it really well. I'm hoping that it's all turning around. I really am. |
Last time I played I had to go 36 holes in one day which was a bit much. But I love playing in 72-hole tournaments and look forward to this event before the third major. |
Last year was a blur with all I was going through (off the course) and sometimes I don't know how I managed to stay focused when I was inside the ropes, |
Last year, I told everyone what my goals were and then I didn't get to come in here and hold the trophy or be soaking wet, so my goal went down the tubes, ... But now, I'm here and I'm soaking wet. And now I'm looking forward to the rest of the year. |
Last year, I won by three, so there was a bit more breathing room than this year. |
Liselotte was wondering who she was playing with. |
Luckily I had a little cushion, and at the end it seemed like I needed it, ... For me, a win is a win. I thought I played excellent the first two days. It's a tough golf course and a lot of things are shaping up for the end of year. So this meant a lot to me. |
Match play is very, very different than stroke play. I think it's fun to have a different format. It's a little bit more drama because anything can happen and every hole is a different match. |
Maybe somebody from Britain will go, ... They don't have to travel far. |
Michelle is very, very talented, ... She is a great asset to golf. I welcome her. The bottom line is, I'm a competitor. I will have my game do the talking. I think it has for the last 10 years, and I will continue to do it that way. |
My caddie told me not to get too cute. He told me, 'Just get it on the green. You're putting well.' That's what I did. |
