[_The Eagles' 23-point loss to the Cowboys on Sunday seems to have bolstered the confidence of the rest of the NFC East, which doesn't view the Birds as unbeatable anymore.] They way Dallas played the other day against them, people might be closing ground on the Eagles, ... Philly has been running the same offense for the last five years and people are starting to make plays on them. |
[Now it is the Giants' turn to play the 49ers, Sunday in San Francisco.] We got to stay focused week in and week out, ... That's been our problem right now. Have a good week one week, the next week we kind of drop off. |
A lot of things affect the game: the wind, the weather. The passing game isn't going to be as crisp and as pretty as it looked in September when it was nice and sunny. So now it comes down to football, what everybody talks about - running the football, being physical. And I think that's where we're playing our best. |
Guys ask me when I'm going to be back, and I don't have no answer for them. At the same time, I've got hope, and hoping that this team will get farther along in the playoffs and I'll be able to come back. |
He feels like he's got people questioning his ability. He's not coming here with a big head. He's coming with a nasty attitude. That's what we need. |
He just knows he doesn't have to be the focal point of this defense. We don't need him to get 10 sacks. We have two guys that can do that. |
He really likes New York and sees it as a good fit. He's made his trips and I think he'd like to make a decision soon and get back to the football aspect of things. |
He's human. He's going to make mistakes ... he came in here, said what he had to say. |
He's revived. He's coming back with a chip on his shoulder. |
I always read the Internet, ... I like to get articles, so I've seen what's been said and it's enough to motivate me even more. |
I can't worry about what everyone else thinks, |
I played for [coach] Marty Schottenheimer [in Washington] and he knows who his workhorse is. I know him. When a player goes to the media with that frustration, he's going to make sure he is so tired after the next game. He'll have 30 or 40 touches. |
I think the one thing Washington gave me was a mixture of everything, |
I think we're building that. If you asked me right now, 'Am I guaranteed?' I'd say I'm about 90 percent guaranteed that we could. Until we finish the season and get into the playoffs, that's when I'll know, because our next four weeks are going to come down to how well our defense plays. |
In the NFL, it's all about working. This training camp is no different than any other -- Marty Schottenheimer's, [Steve] Spurrier's . . . no, Spurrier's was different. That was like nobody else's. But besides that, it's training camp. It's no different. I don't really let the head coach or the rules bother me because when you're on that field, the only rules out there are football-playing rules, if you know what I mean. |
