Everyone is built differently, and people are certainly different in what gives them pleasure -- guitar feedback is food for the soul for one guy, while for another it's like having a dentist's drill jammed in his teeth. Some of those differences come from upbringing, and some are genetic. |
Rock music -- however that might be defined -- seems like it might actually be losing ground to rap ... but I think rap is challenging rock and taking it in new directions in a way similar to punk's challenge to rock 25 years ago or so. |
