Our added power combined with our speed is interesting, but I'm never going to settle for just power. Good pitching can always take that away. |
Rice's pitching staff fell apart the year after they won the national championship. You just don't know until the season starts. |
Schools could no longer buy up the player pools. |
Sometimes when people overcome something difficult, it makes them appreciate other things on a higher level. Bradley is very conscientious, and his accountability is impeccable. He's taken what some people see as a negative and turned it into a positive. |
That is an example of a high level of concentration, good performance and attention to detail. |
That probably is the one thing that separated the two teams. Besides that, I think they looked very much alike. |
That really separated the game. On the other side of it, their pitcher really dominated the game by hitting the bottom part of the strike zone. When we did hit the ball hard, they made some great plays. |
That's going to hurt things like this. If we do play away from home, it probably won't be here. It'll probably be Stanford or something like that, and that's no disrespect whatsoever. |
That's the farthest he's gone, and I didn't want the game to end for him on a sour note. There's a lot of baseball left. |
The environment had a negative effect on our attitude. |
The first game (Saturday) we didn't play very well and we still won the game, 5-3. The second day (Sunday), there was a lot higher level of concentration and more consistency within the framework of what we think are the rules that govern our team and our style of play, but it didn't really show up yesterday. Today, it did show up. The two teams really separated themselves. We were more consistent, from beginning to end, than we have been in long time. It's extremely encouraging...It almost looked easy. That's the way it's supposed to look when it's well done. |
The game was 20 innings and it was cold. We finally won it when the players started getting delirious. They got to laughing and that's what broke the ice - literally. |
The premise is you want to try and get the games in over three days. Both teams opted that not traveling (Friday) was for the best based on the weather projections. |
The question is, as a result [of the win], do we lose our ability to keep our focus or do we stay committed to the details? I know [the team can stay committed]. |
There is no doubt that we have the best fans in all of college baseball. They provide our team with tremendous support each and every year both at home and on the road. Fan Fest is a wonderful way for our team to kick off each season and thank our fans personally for all that they do. |
