The first one is that all of his offices and staff will immediately abide by lobbying reform legislation proposed by Max and (Senate Minority Leader) Harry Reid and ban all gifts, meals and travel by lobbyists.

It makes no sense to yank the rug out from underneath Indian health care at a time when we need it most.

Max has been a champion for the people of Libby ever since this first came about. He realizes this takes both senators pulling in the same direction, and that's what we're doing.

Max has done a top-to-bottom review of all the procedures in his office. As part of that he has banned all gifts, lunches and third-party travel with the exception of these non-profit, non-political organizations. Those trips provide an important educational tool.

Max is absolutely livid about this. The administration screwed up royally ... The Federal Highway Administration were advisers to Max on this language and they approved it. They approved it and said the language was fine and now they are changing their tune.

Max is absolutely livid that these companies have not followed through with their promises. We have been assured by the host committee that folks are going to get paid.

Max worked way too hard to secure these dollars to let a bunch of bureaucrats get in the way.

Max, as the champion for Libby, is going to fight tooth and nail to get this provision added. But if he were to oppose the bill right now, that would be walking away from the people of Libby.
