They are like us in a lot of ways. They have played for so many championships that they lose a lot of incentive unless it is for a dad-gum championship. I have seen it happen and it wouldn't surprise me if that was one of the things. |
They did a fantastic job, ... They surprised me. We played with a lot of freshmen, and I was amazed with what they were able to do. |
They did what you expect freshmen to do. They needed some confidence. They needed something good to happen but it didn't, |
They got a pretty good feel on it. But still, a lot of times you do too much and somebody will blow something. |
They led the league in turnovers, and we didn't get any, |
They lost their quarterback. I don't know what it would have meant if he had not got hurt because he was hurting us very bad. |
They missed a field goal at the end that could have tied it up. That was probably the most dramatic of all the games. We won the national championship that year, so we had to have it. |
They need to be in a game-like situation and play as a unit and see how they respond. Because you can't do it much in the fall. |
They played like freshmen, ... Maybe they learned something. The only thing I didn't like was our quarterbacks couldn't hit a receiver. If we can get our quarterbacks ironed out, we've got a chance to be a pretty good team. |
They played like freshmen. Maybe they learned something. |
They remind me of Boston College a lot. I think they have eight starters back on defense and I think six or seven on offense. |
They're getting the bonnets on the right people. |
They're just like us - get one more touchdown and you win all your games. ... It's not like either one of us has been blown out. |
They're quicker. They're much quicker than the last team we played, we feel like. |
They've always been a scary team to play. They've always been a real feisty, competitive team. They can beat anybody they play on a hot night. |
