[Haldeman] made some great saves for us [in the second half] but, in the end it came down to draw controls and Georgetown did a fantastic job. We just had a period where we weren't very smart in terms of getting the ball down the field and some of our turnovers really hurt us. |
Georgetown knows how to set the ball up and they can finish really nicely. It was a matter of us giving them an inch and them taking it. |
I thought our effort on Wednesday night was excellent. We played another well executed game in both skill and game plan. The energy level was pretty high, and the team play was strong. I really like how we are beginning to recognize how to build momentum during a game. Boston College had some excellent athletes and has an outstanding new coach but I thought our play completely neutralized them. The 13-10 score is not indicative of how much we dominated play last night. |
It's all about playing at a high energy [level]. We need to keep up the speed and make a few smarter decisions while we're playing. |
Our focus for Saturday is to be better than we are today. It is a step by step process, irrespective of our opponent or location of the game. What I really like about this team right now is that both our starters and bench are becoming more consistent in their strong play. If we continue making those gains and learning how to take control on game day we will be very happy with the end results. |
The tough part was that when it mattered, during a certain brief minute stretch where we could've taken control of the game, we turned the ball over. |
We felt like we only needed to clear up a few things at the half but we clearly needed to get better at [recovering] ground balls, draw controls and limit our fouling. |
We still are making a few of our mistakes and if we can clean that up that's all the difference in going from good to great. |
We're looking to improve in every area and our focus this week has been looking at our game and preparing at both ends. Defensively, we want to make them try and score on seven defenders and get better in our transition game. |
We're seeing great things out of people all over the place. People coming off the bench have been doing a phenomenal job for us and that [helps our cause even more]. |
We're working on finishing strong and maintaining a high level of play throughout the entire game. Possession and improving our draw controls will be critical. |
