They are probably a little favored over us. We put a challenge to our kids that someone needs to step up and win a match they're not supposed to. Someone needs to pin where they weren't expected, and we need to stay off of our backs as much as possible. |
They're a better team than they were last year. That's evident. |
This is great for Matt and his family. They've been working for this since he was little. All the hours of work, driving to camps and meets, this is what it's all about. |
Those young guys really wrestled well. I'm pleased. |
Those young guys really wrestled well. I'm pleased. I'm very thrilled that we are walking out here with a state trophy tonight. |
Two of those guys were back-ups and they were giving up weight tonight. |
We have matches that we can win, but it works both ways. We have to be ready to go and can't take anyone lightly. |
We have two left, and they have to be ready to go tomorrow. |
We just didn't wrestle quite as well in the championship match. … But we're walking out state runner-up. I'm proud of this team. It's been a great year. At the beginning of the year I wasn't sure how we were going to be. These kids stepped up and we wrestled in the championship match. |
We need to get a bunch of guys to go in there and wrestle like they're capable of wrestling. We need to stay away from major upsets. |
We were worried about him, sure. We wanted him to finish the match, but not if he was hurt. Matt's a kid who would have tried to finish if he was hurt, and if he had gotten beat like that, it would have been terrible. |
We won't take them lightly. They're the best in that area. We'll come in and see what we can do and we want to wrestle well. We've been upset before (In this meet). 1997 comes to mind. |
We'll try and avenge that loss and go on from there. Will has been on a roll. |
