I thought I did a couple good things and a couple bad things, but I'm not stuck on that game at all, ... I'm moving on. It was a preseason game. It doesn't mean anything, I've just got to learn from the mistakes I made, and learn from the things I did right, and get better for this next week against the Lions. |
I want to play, regardless. I have a number of days to get ready before Sunday. If I'm not ready to play, I'm not ready to play. But everything I've done so far is part of the process of getting me ready to play. |
I was laying down in the back seat looking back at the stadium lights. That's the only thing that goes through my head, it's that feeling. It was our first playoff game at the stadium here. That was my last memory of that game; it wasn't the play at all. I don't have that play in my head. I just have that feeling of being there and not being able to finish the game. |
I was scared to death, ... I said on the sideline, 'This is scary.' Then, when they got the ball again and they get that flag, I'm saying, 'We're going into OT.' |
I was trying to work on them (to play more). It's good they don't leave those decisions up to the players and we've got smarter, more stern people like (coach) Marvin (Lewis) and the training staff who have the bigger picture in mind. |
I wish I knew when I was coming back. The last thing I need to do is push anything too early and push back the date that I can really step on the field 100 percent. |
I'm feeling good. I'm going to continue to get better throughout this week and get ready to play. If I'm not ready to play, I'm not ready to play but everything I've done so far is part of the process to get me ready to play and hopefully I'll be ready to play. |
I'm more excited about getting past the Chiefs and moving on forward from that. |
I'm not sure how many catches T.J. ended up having, but he ended up being the go-to guy. |
I've been given a lot of freedom as far as that's concerned, but no more freedom than I had last year, ... It's the quarterback's job to get you in the right play. That's just part of my role. If anything, I'm just more experienced doing it. |
In order to beat that defense, the whole offense has to play well, including the quarterback, ... The last couple of times we've played them, the offense played well but I didn't. A lot of it falls on me and puts a lot more pressure on me. |
It comes in parts, and it comes in practice. It's not sitting in the meeting and looking at a play on the wall that's drawn up in marker. It comes in preseason games, in throwing picks here and throwing picks there. In making bad reads here and there. You learn from it all. That's how I'm going to get there. |
It opens up the passing game, ... When a guy gets open that early, it definitely puts fear into their hearts. |
It seems like we're on top of the world right now. But I don't think guys in this locker room really feel like that. I think they feel we haven't arrived yet. |
It sucks, but I'm looking at it as a small bump in the road, ... I'm hoping I can get through this thing. I haven't thought of it as a big deal or a big problem. I just need to get it as solid as I can before game day, this Saturday, and hopefully I don't have to worry about it much more this season. |
