I'm better now. But it made me value things in general a lot more. It made it harder to leave home again on tour, but it was fun once I was out there. |
The music was different then from how it is now, though. I think we're now better songwriters, and we're better at doing the song instead of just showing off up there. |
Usually, I write my stuff and then he takes it and writes his part, his stuff. Sometimes, the two of us will sit together and write, too ... I have taken to taking my cellphone with me to sound-check in case I come up with some idea. |
We've only played 10 or 12 shows with Matt. Markku left a month and a half, maybe two, ago. We met Matt through Chris, our drummer. They both come from up north (the Bay area), and Matt was playing in a band called Tsunami Bomb. He was great, so we called him in. |
Well, when we first started playing together, we were young and really excited about it. It's been 11 years now. Things change in 11 years. But not the name. I think it maybe shows even though we are serious about music, we don't take ourselves too seriously. |
