They were good examples for us that when things weren't going well you have to keep plugging away and keep working it and working it. The biggest thing is, I never once heard Coach Kennedy use it as an excuse. That would have been easy to do because he had a million of them but at no time was he 'Oh, this' or 'Oh, that.' It was simply, 'We have to handle it and we have to get better.' That's a very impressive perspective. |
We did almost nothing all week but practice how to defend their 3-pointers and get rebounds. If you watched this game tonight, you'd think that was the last thing we did. I've got to give Elder credit. They hit the open shots; they played defense. We didn't do any of that. It's a simple game, really, and they play it well. |
