It's not 'We can win.' We WILL win. That's the attitude we want to have, and it starts from (each player) individually. If you're blocking the best defensive lineman in the country, you have to have the attitude that 'I'm going to kick his butt. |
It's what this program's all about. Some way, we find a way to win. |
Last year was tough for Kyle, but a little bit of humbling is never a bad thing. It forced him to realize that nothing comes easy, especially at a place like this. |
LSU obviously has a great defense. Their D-line is as good or better than anybody we've seen so far this year. They've got a blitzing scheme that will cause a lot of problems. |
Right now Seth is playing better. Everything is still etched in sand. |
That's when you just hand it to him and let him run over some people. |
The big thing is, we talk about how we're going to call things. The good thing with him is, he's been under a few different systems so he understands the passing game and reads and things like that.... It's not a normal 'new-guy' situation. |
The first thing is to learn the schemes so (players) know what to do. Then, you've got to be a good enough player to back up what you're talking about. And once you've got that confidence that you're winning on the field and you know what you're doing, it sort of builds itself. |
The thing he's got to work on is getting rid of the ball a little quicker. There was a couple of times he held onto it. ... Right now, Seth is playing better, but everything is etched in sand. |
The whole team played great. I think they got tired of hearing that we were a one-man team. I was tired of hearing it, too. |
Way too many drops. We had guys open and we either made a bad throw or dropped it. Obviously, you can't be successful when you do that. |
We had the mentality of success (at Miami), the mentality that we were going to come out and win every week. When I was a G.A. there, I felt it and tried to carry it over to other schools that I've been to. Hopefully, that will carry to this team also. |
We moved it down there on the goal line where they knew what we were going to do, and we still hammered it in there a few times. That tells me that we're getting more physical. |
When I have two guys on me, that's going to leave some people wide open. Three-on-four doesn't work out too well for the other side. |
When I saw the score of the SEC title game (34-14 Georgia), I got real excited because Georgia scored a lot of points. It's not like Georgia ran up and down the field. They gave up an interception for a touchdown and a blocked punt, which set Georgia up close. There were a couple of big plays LSU handed them. |
