Sometimes you win when maybe you aren't that perfect that day. To be undefeated normally you have to win a game or two that maybe the opponent could have easily won if they had made that big play. [Denver] made some big plays, but our defense came up with some plays in critical situations. |
That kind of guy, as you saw, most of the time somebody was on him, but he just wins the battle physically, one-on-one. They do a great job of throwing him the ball. It's just a one-on-one situation, and he wins that battle. |
That kind of motivation brings tears to my eyes, ... as do thoughts of Priest Holmes playing in week thirteen. |
That's 4.3 miles with the ball under your arm. We brought him here with great hope and respect but no way could you anticipate him doing what he's done. |
That's his best game of the year, ... and he's coming on at the right time. |
The ability of the defensive teams to take away what you do is much greater in the NFL than in college, ... What you do well now, they might eliminate on Sunday. So you've got to make sure you can keep branching off onto other things. |

The big problem with them is their offensive line and their zone scheme. They do an awfully good job with it. Everybody has a few zone scheme running plays. We do. But they build their offense on that. They get you stretched, reaching out, and then they shove you out and cut right back underneath you. They do a good job of cutting the linebackers off. |
The big thing, ... is what these kids are all made out of. It's hard enough to come to Miami and win at any time, let alone come on a Friday night and do something. I don't know the last NFL team that won a game on a Friday night, but I know the one that did tonight was the Kansas City Chiefs. |
The kind of guy Joe is and the coach he was at the time he left, I think he got like all of us do: You miss it. You miss the competitive parts of the game and the people involved in the game. I told him he wouldn't have any problems if he surrounded himself with good coaches and good people. |
The last two times they had the ball they went down the field and scored, ... I figured if we lost the toss and kicked off they may win the game, and I didn't want to give them that opportunity. |
The night before he flew, I told him, `Don't even come and see me,' |
The other thing is to keep their quarterback struggling, |
The pressure is on us, |
The pressure of a game doesn't really . . . I'm not saying it doesn't bother him -- it doesn't affect him negatively, |
