Yes, but things happen. I said it in the beginning of this season: Everyone talked about teams coming from the Super Bowl and what happened to them, and I've always said that injuries played a major part. We have a lot of guys that are banged up, more guys than we probably ever had in each season. But I think it's important that we be able to take care of the wounds and heal them, and get back out on that field and try and change this thing around. |
You can't do the things we did, ... Everyone will look critically at themselves. I know I will. The good thing is that we have 15 more games to play, and we won't have many more like this one. |

You have to have your mind prepared to just go out and forget about the soreness, forget about the pain, and just play football. |
You have to run the ball more, but when you get into a rhythm, you have to stay with what's working, |
You just have to realize that some days you'll feel great, some days you won't, |
You just have to turn the page. It's tough knowing what has happened in the past and how close we've been, but you can't dwell on the past. This is the time to rewrite a new chapter for the future. Hopefully we ... can put ourselves in a position where we'll all be happy. |
You just kind of want to make sure you get the right answer. Not to knock any of our [medical staff], they do a wonderful job, but this is my job. This is what I love to do. If I can find a way to get healthy, be out there at 100 percent, that's my goal. |
You know that [the rookies'] minds are kind of racing right now. We just want them to be relaxed and go out and play, and Spach is doing an excellent job with that. |
You know, I wasn't just sitting back, waiting to see what was going on. Whatever has happened in the past, hopefully it's over. If it's not, what we're doing right now is obviously good. |
You never want to call anybody on an injury. Maybe they don't want to think about the injury anymore. That kind of shows the person he is and the character he has of just picking up the phone and calling me. |
You never want to leave on a bye week after something like this, ... But it might be something we need. |
You've never heard me say anything bad about him, ... You've never heard me say anything bad about the situation. I just continued to put that behind me and tried to move on. |
