At least up to this point, we're making enough plays to stay in the game but we aren't making enough to win the games. |
I was concerned it could have gotten (out of hand) both ways. I was glad our players tried to keep their composure and keep playing and ignored all outside events. |
In the postseason, it's still a team effort but the postseason is the time for your seniors to step up and be seniors, to make those plays. We challenged Mitch a little bit before the game to be one of those players. I thought he responded. |
It was nice to see to Mitch do that. Their defensive game plan just didn't work because of what Mitch did. |
That was a fun environment. It had to be a huge difference for us. The kids ... used that energy to try to ratchet up our intensity to keep our focus. |
That'd be nice. Maybe I should. As I teach, I don't keep lesson plans from one year to the next and I don't keep anything from one season to the next. |
The guys really executed our defensive game plan. Their execution combined with their intensity. We couldn't have asked for anything more. |
The kids have to be focused on what we need to do to come away with a win. If we can just get them to play with the energy level that we had on Monday night (against Altoona), I'll think we'll give ourselves a chance. |
They always say, 'Championships are won in March.' And that's true but you have to be making progress in December and January. In college basketball, they say the season starts in January. So does ours because that's district play and our first goal is to win our district. |
We had some nice sets to run against a 2-3. We wanted quicker ball movement, quicker decisions with the ball and I thought they did that nicely. That was probably a key point in the game when we got them to come out of the zone. |
We needed to make some adjustments defensively. I didn't like the looks Altoona was getting. I thought whoever did make a run first in the third quarter, it was going to be critical and they looked like they getting ready to put one together against us. |
We talked about him. I think he's a good player. |
We were getting nice shots, high-percentage shots. I liked that. |
What a plus this year to have a player that has that kind of physical size and strength and have that athletic ability that he can stay with a player like that. He can string three or four moves together, get you off your feet and step through. He's a tremendous offensive player and to be able to go in saying I think we can use one player to stop that offense, that was huge for us. |
