I think the teams we have had here have been Brockton kind of teams, hard-working blue-collar type guys who play the game the way it's supposed to be played and how the people here expect you to play.

I'm very proud of what this organization has done in terms of our involvement in the community,

Essentially, we came in here as a new business, and people accepted us, and one reason is because we visited the schools, visited the hospitals, went to openings, all of those things. We were out in the community, people saw us and accepted us as part of the community.

People here fell in love with the ballpark, and the facility became a meeting place first, and then they started following the ballclub as they got to know some of the players,

you can plan on being here tommorow (Sunday). You can't stay in this business for 45 years without being confident. I learned one thing about quotes in 45 years is that they are easily forgotten.

I have had four wonderful years here, and I am not going to go home and mow the lawn. There are some great lawns out there, but lawns are left, center and right.

I didn't expect to play today, and it sounds even worse for tomorrow (today), so we'll see what happens. You never know with the weather. We wanted to play if we could and we were able to. (Campanelli head groundskeeper) Tommy Hassett is the best groundskeeper I've ever been around and we've got the best field I've seen, and that allows us to play after all that rain.

At first, they wanted to wait until we were ready to start to decide whether to play, but I didn't want to have Oil Can (Boyd) warm up, and then not play the game,

It wasn't like there was gonna be a breeze that would blow that fog away. That stuff wasn't going anywhere. And if we had gotten a breeze, that probably would have meant another storm coming in, and that wouldn't have been good, either.

We only had two hits in the first five innings, and you're not gonna win very often doing that. We've been swinging the bats good lately, but it just wasn't our night. That was their best pitcher and he did a good job.

I don't think Dorn was his usual sharp self tonight. I really don't think he has had his really good stuff the last couple of starts. I don't know why, but that's how it looked to me.

It won't happen, because nothing comes that easy. Oil Can did a super job in the first game, but we couldn't get any runs for him. That is the way it has been through out the season. 'Can' should be 10-2, not 4-4.

Kevin Beavers did a great job in the second game. He got a little tired. Beavers has been hot and cold this year, but lately cold. He came out strong and we needed the game after losing a tough one in the first game.

We have a good bullpen when our starters can go six or seven innings. I feel we have the best bullpen in the league. We took a chance letting (reliever) Joey Cole go, but right now, I feel it was a good decision.

Julien plays his roles well. He probably plays up to his capabilities, day in and day out, as well as anyone I've ever had.
