[Second Ward Alderman Mac Myers asked Price if the 10 p.m. curfew was too early.] It's not too early, ... I don't know where your 15-year-old is at 10 p.m., but mine's at home. |
And they can go home, ... Not sit in a parking lot drinking beer and smoking pot. |
Even the guys that started last year for us have gotten better. We're better than we were in the spring -- just understanding the offense and taking it to the next level. Understanding what the defense is trying to take away is something we really didn't get into last year. Just all those things make you a better, more well-rounded wide receiver. Everything we're asking them to do, they're getting the job done. |

He was out so much before the season started that he got out of shape a little, so his wind wasn't back, |
He'll be ready to go by Houston. |
He's healthy. He's probably a lot healthier now than he was a year ago at this time. He was fighting (the groin injury) most of the season last year. It got to be 100 percent during the spring, but it's been off-and-on since. Now he's putting a string together of good days. I don't want to jinx him, but he's doing a great job. |
He's progressing really well. He's gone through some things back home, and because he's a junior college transfer, he had to pass a bunch of classes over the summer. So he did more academics than football. But he took care of (the academics) and passed his classes. |
I heard a lot of stuff, but my wife and family heard more. If you want to be a coach, you have to deal with it. Luckily, the Internet wasn't as big as it is now. It's harder on the wives than the coaches. No one ever says much to our faces. |
I understand people saying it's not fair. But nothing's fair, |
It was kind of a second family for kids who were directly affected by it. With 100 guys together, it really helped the guys who were hurt by it. |
That was a shocker to see that, especially so soon after it happened. On the day it happened, our secretary had a sister who worked in the building, and she came flying out, screaming and yelling. And a couple of the players, Wayne Chrebet and Vinny Testeverde, had friends who worked in there. That was a deal where it hit our team pretty hard, and we were so close to it anyway. |
That's why I'm here. It's not just about building housing. It's about redeveloping a neighborhood. |
The competition is making them better. They don't like it. They would like to say, 'Hey, I'm the guy, I'm the star.' And you want that. You want a guy in there that wants to be the guy. But it's making them compete, whether they like it or not. |
