However, I'm disappointed that he isn't trying to find out how this scandal was allowed to happen, ... I think we need a thorough, broad and independent investigation so that we can restore baseball's credibility. |
If it hadn't been for Congress looking at this issue, seriously concerned about it, there would not have been an impetus for them to come together as they have now, |
If the Republican Congress had been as concerned with the welfare of Medicare beneficiaries as it was with protecting the interests of the drug companies and insurance companies that are their big contributors we would have seen a very different drug program. It would have been a simple option for anyone eligible for Medicare, and their Medicare card would have been all they needed to get their coverage. Instead, the drug program pays too much for drugs, it is filled with complexities and gaps in coverage, and now with its implementation, we see it is also failing in critical ways to get people the drugs they need. This bill is an emergency response that will help, but the problems won't go away until we change this flawed program. |

The Bush administration repeatedly gave Halliburton special treatment and allowed the company to gouge both U.S. taxpayers and the Iraqi people, ... The international auditors have every right to expect a full refund of Halliburton's egregious overcharges. |
The routine promotion of condoms through advertising has been stopped by networks who are so hypocritically priggish that they refuse to describe disease control as they promote disease transmission. |
The victims of Hurricane Katrina are going to be hurt again: They're going to be exposed to more toxic chemicals. |
Washington Republicans tucked a huge Christmas present for the drug companies into the appropriations bill in the dead of night. The liability shield can be granted to any product used to prevent or treat an epidemic or a pandemic, and the (administration) gets to decide what that means. |
We seem to be paying a heck of a lot of money for these ships. I'm trying to determine if this is a wise use of resources. |
We should be doing our utmost to ensure that all are protected against discrimination, |
We want an independent commission, |
