At this point I anticipate he'll be out for the season,'' Edwards said of Pennington.

Chas is doing a great job. For a receiver, you have to get to a point where you aren't thinking so much and you start reacting on the field. I think he's really turned the corner in that respect.

He looked great, ... He has some explosiveness. He turned on the juice a little bit and you can see the speed that he carries with him. He gets physical for defenders and fought for a couple of balls out there. ...

He told me it's nothing major,

I almost went to the wrong sideline because I'm used to going the other way so many times. It's great coming out here and seeing a green and white uniform on me on the big screen in the pregame.

I figured there'd be a lot of phone calls, a lot of interest and stories. But I'm preparing for just another game, another chance to put a 'W' on the board.

I knew I wasn't going to be able to throw a football.

I think I've picked up the offense very well throughout the months of offseason work and the last couple weeks of training camp. It suits me very well.

I told them we had 98 yards to go, but I didn't know it would take 16 pays to get all of it. We executed up and down the field. The run game, the pass game and protection were great.

I want to get back as fast as I can, but smartly. This is an injury, it's pretty much all or nothing. I have to be able to do everything with it and function as a quarterback or I can't. My body will tell me when I'm ready.

That was unbelievable what Lamar did out there. Nothing he does surprises me anymore. He's one tough runner. You get him one-on-one on a safety and he's going to break some tackles.

The position is a test of your patience. You can't relax. You can't ever feel like you're never going to get that chance. You always have to expect it's going to happen next week or next play. You always have to be prepared.

There never really was much pain in it, ... It's a mobility problem more than a pain problem.

There were some games that things weren't working very well, we weren't getting the protections, and we had to be a little bit more conservative. But there were times I felt we could have opened it up a little bit more.
