Defense is always something I take pride in — ever since I was little. The whole team has improved. I've always been a defensive player. I take more pride in my defense than my offense. Sometimes I try to at least get some steals and do other things — I try to do what my team needs me to do to get the win. |
Everybody needs a rest on our team. |
He did some tremendous things for us today. He gave us a big spark off the bench and that's what you need in those situations. He stepped up today. |
He told me that the shot looked great. Just keep shooting it, he said, and it will fall for me. |
He was saying the ball was coming out the side of my hand. He told me to spread my fingers and follow through. I'll be doing that tomorrow. |
He's just a positive guy. He's always speaking positive on his players. You never hear any negatives about anybody. He's a great guy. At this time of year, anybody can get beat. You can't look past anyone, and it starts Friday with Davidson. |

I just tried to get down the court and get open before they could find me. |
I knew we had to come out of the gate and jump on Purdue. |

I talked to my dad last night and he said to keep shooting, that the shots were going to fall. I was just listening to my dad. |
It kind of took our focus off the game a little bit. But we got it back in the second half and came out and played better basketball. |
It ranks right up there. |
It seemed like there was a lid on the basket. I'm sure we'll come in (today) and shoot some free throws. |
It was the defense. The coach gave us a halftime speech, more or less to get us motivated on defense, to play harder. We did a good job of sharing the ball and took some great shots. |
