We're happy with the effort, but to not get points [against Nashville and Detroit] is unacceptable and frustrating. We feel that we've turned that corner and that we are outplaying teams. But we're not getting the timely goal when we need it, to either open the game up or tie it up. |
We're playing a lot better, but it's still a loss. We had a breakdown at the end of the second. Then they had a power play at the end and they scored. That was the difference in that game. |
When we weren't in the box, I thought we played pretty well. |
When we've been down a goal at the start of the third, we've tried to make too much happen, |
You get a guy like that, he's going to score 25, 30, 35 goals. It will be interesting to see if the game opens up without the red line enabling him to use his speed. I don't know what Bonzai is going to do. He's been a fan favorite for so many years. It would be great for the fans to see him come back. |
You have to be fast now. You used to be able to get by with hooking and holding. Not now. You can't wrap guys up the way it was in the past. |
You never go into a game expecting a cake walk. I thought we played well enough to win. But again, the power play didn't come through in the first period on the 5-on-3. Then, they get that power play goal and we're playing catch-up. |
