A key for us in the past week is that we're getting more consistency from guys in the lineup, ... Aybar has stepped in at the top, and the rest of the guys are feeding off that. He's set the tone and everybody's followed. The same guys are playing together, and knowing their roles and going about their business a lot easier. When guys move in and out, it's hard to get comfortable. That's part of the reason we're playing good ball now. |
All the guys look forward to seeing him in spring training. He doesn't get around here too often. It still looks like he can go out there and pitch. He's in great shape. Just to have his presence would benefit the club if he could be around more often. |
Getting our youth involved in the democratic system is more important now than ever before. He's trying to buy volunteers. |
He had to work his tail off just to get another chance to pitch. More than anything, hopefully he shows that his health isn't an issue. He never had any trouble with his arm. He was always a control pitcher. My only hope is some teams start to know what he can do and get him an invitation to spring training next year. |
He is committed to supporting the Democratic leadership in the Senate. |
He set the tone tonight. |
He's trying to buy volunteers. The truth of the matter is he doesn't have hundreds of people who want to come out and work on his campaign. |
Hell of a play by Erstad out there. |
I couldn't believe it. He was like 130 pounds. It was a really tough situation. He was just getting into the league, establishing himself, and then he had to go through all that. He's such a great person, it hurt to see someone so young go through something like that. |
I deserved to be booed off the field. I got my butt kicked. What do you expect? They want us to win. We're playing a key team to establish something, and I let the team down tonight, plain and simple. I fell behind to quite a few hitters and they made me pay. I'm sure I'll be facing them again. So if I'm out there again, hopefully I'll do a better job. |
I felt a lot better today and located better. I just want to throw pitches where I want to, regardless if they hit it or not. I did that. It's another step forward. |
I got involved because I didn't want to see it closed. I still don't. I'd give the lease away to somebody right now if I could just get some of the money I have in equipment I have sitting there. |
I got the ball down in the zone after that first inning. It's more about feeling comfortable physically and mechanically. |
I kind of get nervous if I don't give up any runs — that's a pretty typical spring start for me. |
I knew my slider got them out before, and I was going to make them hit it. |
