It's a makeup situation, someone who likes to do that. Guys that like to get the last three outs don't mind being the guy to get the last outs. Furthermore, if they don't get it tonight and they get bumped a little bit and lose or give it up, they can come back the next night and get it done. |
It's a vacillating situation. There just haven't been six, seven guys who have established themselves on a consistent basis. So we're constantly re-evaluating it. If there were six guys who just jumped out, let's go. But it hasn't been that way. |
It's all hands. That guy is all hands. |
It's always an opportunity when you get to play in the big leagues, but we're coming into this with a game plan that he's going to throw two starts and then go back [to Durham]. That's the plan. But it is an opportunity, no doubt. I would be lying if I said otherwise. |
It's always hard to come from behind. It can wear you out. |
It's always hard to have to come from behind. It can wear you down. We as a group have to stay away from the big inning. |
It's best just to back him off and make the decision for him at this point and have him just relax a little bit. It's a long year. We have a lot of games left. |
It's exciting. I think our guys are ready. |
It's hard to always come from behind, and it can wear you down. But we're going to get better in the beginning part of the game. Those things run in cycles. We'll settle down, we'll pitch better. We'll get through the first five to six [innings] better. It is hard to consistently try to come from behind. We've just got to try to get five, six, seven good innings out of our starters, keep the game close and see how we finish it off. |
It's just a bad night, that's all. It's the second game of the year; we've got plenty more to go. I don't know if we're pitching that bad or they've been hitting the ball that well. |
It's just a bad spot. Swinging the bat takes a lot of effort there. I know he's working hard and seeing some progress, but we just have to be patient. |
It's just a part of the sport. You have injuries. |
It's just crazy stuff. We talked about the utility of the team in general - it's getting stretched a little bit. |
It's never good for your confidence to get your ears pinned back. But if you step back, you can analyze the situation and learn from it. |
It's not how it was written up this spring. The show must go on. It's a difficult moment right now. But nobody is quitting. |
