I liked what I saw. He just got a ball up (in the strike zone) on the home run. I know what he can do. He's a ground-ball pitcher and he knows he's got to keep the ball down to be successful. |
I thought so, I thought my lead foot was in there, |
I was really paying attention from the stretch. He was opening a little and I was trying to make him stay back and closed, especially his front shoulder. |
I was really surprised he wasn't bunting, ... especially after we got strike one on him. I guess he's their cleanup hitter, so they let him swing, but I would have bunted. |
I was upset. Obviously, I wanted to play for Puerto Rico. I wanted to play in front of my family, to be there and wear that P.R. on my shirt. But it didn't happen. |
I'm going to try to do my best to get him to win the game, and that's the only thing I can do. I want to get to know him as much as I can, and that's the only way to do it. Communication is key. |
I'm seeing a lot of good results, |
I've got a little whiplash, That's what Yankees-Red Sox is all about. |
If we win, I'm perfect. |
In my point of view, we've forgotten a lot of things that happened yesterday. That's the way we have to approach these things. |
It gets tougher down the stretch, ... We have to find ways of making sure everyone understands where we are. We have to grind at-bats, grind games. |
It looks like we are. I can't remember the last time we threw the leather around like we did today. The pitching is stepping up, and today the defense did the same. We understand what we need to do. |
It was just one of those things that was just going to happen. We know what kind of lineup we have. You do anything possible to stay positive. |
It was not a pretty view from my angle. The way he was pitching, the things he was doing, when he comes out of the game, it really changes everything around. |
It's a new season. Right now everybody's hot. |
