I love this (tournament). This is me more than anything else. I love playing in a small environment -- it's more cozy, |
I made the right decision and I'm happy, |
I need to do all those things if I want to be able to play as well as I have been. That's why, after the US Open, I'm going to have a long break ... just to make sure that everything is right and that I recover well. |
I never knew anything about it (the Jersey shore), ... But I had a great time. |
I never thought I could have a season like this. |
I played pretty well today and stayed aggressive because she is a tough opponent, ... This is where it all started for me so I'm really pleased to win again here today. One year ago I was injured, some months ago I was ranked around 130, and right now I am really pleased that I'm healthy and playing well. |
I prefer people who are relaxed in my box. I don't want people who are jumping up. |
I re-aggravated the right ankle that I injured in Australia this past week, and now require some time off to get back to 100 percent. |
I really need three weeks' recovery time. I just want to have no more injury woes. |
I see myself stopping in 2007 or early 2008 after the Antwerp Diamond Games, ... Maybe I will still play the Diamond Games in 2008 as a goodbye tournament, but that will be it. |

I started off better tonight than in the first match. I had three really good games, but then I couldn't keep it going. I'm still not consistent enough, and I haven't been getting enough first serves in. I'm still suffering from a bit of a cold, which hasn't helped. |
I still have few things to work on but it's the last grand slam of the year and the one I always look forward to. |
I think especially against her it's important from the start to get into the match. When she gets ahead she can play incredible tennis. |
I think I can speak for Justine, too. No matter where we go there is always a lot of Belgian flags in the crowd supporting us. |
