[Just like Vanderbilt should no longer be taken for granted. The Commodores are 2-0 in the SEC and the team, especially Cutler, is catching the attention of opposing players and coaches.] We have to control him, ... He's their big playmaker. |
[LSU offensive line coach Stacy Searels and head coach Les Miles, a former Michigan guard and offensive line coach, say center is the most natural position for Niswanger, though he has the 6-foot-5, 294-pound build of a tackle.] Rudy is quick and smart, which are two things you have to be play center, ... He fits in very well there and has played very well. He calls a lot of the blocking assignments and has been good at that. |
[The Tigers saw Black Hawk helicopters fly over as they practiced in Baton Rouge, bringing in the injured. Just 200 yards from their stadium the injured were treated.] We were surrounded by a real-life problem, ... They wanted this game for the people back home. They would not be denied. |
[Verbally lambasted for not playing start-to-finish, LSU (2-1) dominated the entire second half - including garbage time - ripping off three consecutive punishing touchdown drives which, coupled with a sudden, steady rain, provided enough reason for most of the 48,344 in Wade Davis Stadium to retreat to their tailgates.] It's not what I said, ... I think our guys understood that we needed to play with a greater intensity than we did in the first half. They did not need me to say that to them, although I did. |

Basically, we're doing things that are customary to good football teams. |

Certainly we gained a lot of yards, but fumbles and penalties, those two things just drive coaches crazy, |
Chase's performance was less than what he'll be in the future, ... It was a representative performance for him. He'll be better as games go on. |
Chris is having a very strong year. If there's a better punter in the country under pressure in tough situations who hits the ball as long and as high as he does, I'd like somebody to point him out to me. I think he's having a great year. |
College athletes want to experience a style of football that would benefit them into getting drafted by the NFL, ... It's pretty to easy to figure that those coaches that have coached in the NFL would surely want to run a program in college that's similar to that at the very highest level of football. |
E.J. is rehabbing and coming back to health, ... His status will change based on how he performs in practice, how his injury heals. I suspect he'll be practicing more this week. Whether he'll be ready to play, I don't know. |
