After the Otter Valley game (a 48-19 Bulldog loss), the guys came to practice really loose. I usually don't let practices run too loose, but they seemed to have found themselves so I let it go. This week, they're loose again and I think they've found their niche, so this week I encouraged it. |
Brian had a nice day. He only threw nine passes, but completed six. We're looking to set up the play-action pass and try to keep U-32 off-balance. But as far as our drop-back passing, that will have to go on the back burner for awhile. |
He's looking at some Atlantic 10 schools like Rhode Island and Maine. |
It was just fantastic to see our defense [against CVU]. We swarmed the ball and had a bunch of gang tackles. Teams can't run up the middle on us. |
It's back to my roots. |
It's nice to come out on the winning side of one of those. |
Some things just didn't fall our way that put us in a hole fast. Those things just keep snowballing at you. |
That would makes us 5-4 after a 1-3 start. That's something to hang your hat on. |
The defense played a tremendous game. We held the ball for most of the game. Whenever they got it, our defense stopped them and gave it right back to us. |
The seniors are really committed to getting back to where we were and have come out and worked hard. |
They both have their strengths. Drew is a great blocker and Jared has some great running ability. After what I saw today, I'd like to see some kind of rotation where I can use both of their strengths. |
We had trouble stopping their counter. |
We made too many mistakes and missed too many opportunities. It just ended up lop-sided. |
We want to shut down the pass. We want to make it difficult for [Hass] to get off the line of scrimmage. |
We wanted to throw more but the line just wasn't giving Brian protection so I didn't feel confident with it. |
