[The Jackson's] were very happy, we all were. Edgar said the last sixteenth he just folded up on him and he didn't even hit him with the stick. |
All his races, he's been right off the pace and has been able to keep himself out of trouble. Whether he can do that in a 20-horse field, I don't know. |
All the horsemen I've spoken to, don't have a problem with it. |
Brother Derek is four weeks instead of five. I don't know what the big deal about this is. All his races have been run in five or six weeks. I don't see any problem. |
But he recovered quickly and did what he needed to do. What more can you ask for? |
Edgar rode him just beautifully, and the horse just does what he has to do. He galloped out great?his ears were pricked, and it was beautiful to see in the replay. It looked like he was just looking for more. That was the first time a horse really fought with him, so I thought he'd come back here dead tired, but he ate everything up that night and he's in the feed tub right now. |
Everybody makes a big deal out of the five weeks, but I don't think it's a big deal for this horse. |
Everybody seems to have questions about this or that, but he's worked fine and done everything we've asked of him coming up to the race. He couldn't be better. |
Everything continues to be great. We're just keeping our fingers crossed now. |
He has always trained well on the dirt. His half-brother was a stakes winner on the dirt. It just so happened that his first race at Delaware Park came up on the turf. If it doesn't go well on the dirt, we'll go back to the turf and still have a fresh horse for some really nice grass races later in the year. |
He was ready to run today. He's a good horse. He's done everything we've asked of him. |
He went real nice. For right now, we don't need to do any more than we're doing. We've still got four weeks to go. |
He went very well. He had a nice work. I'm very pleased with the way he is right now and if everything continues to go well, we're ready to run. |
He worked great and is ready to go. |
He's been fine, and I see no reason why he won't run well. |
